Change Your Job Or Change Yourself

I mentor and coach people who are wanting to make a major life change. A change in career, company, relationships, health or even marriage.

Change can be the most difficult thing for some people to do. For me it has always been easy but I find for most it can be paralyzing. It seems they are afraid to make a mistake or afraid to be criticized. Through mentoring or coaching most learn to uncover their inner strength and make the change their heart says yes to while their mind is saying no to. When it comes down to a heart or head decision…always go with the heart decision. It takes courage but your heart has wisdom where your brain has other people’s thoughts.

I want to offer this piece of advice to mull over if you are unhappy in your career or with your boss or company.

You have 2 options. You can change your job, boss or company – or you can change your thinking about them. You can focus on what you do not like – or you can focus on what you do like. I find most clients focus on the problem and therefore feel helpless, frustrated, angry, stressed and out of control. The ones who are happy focus on solutions. They do not think about what they cannot change, but focus instead on what they can change – and then move forward in confidence and control and change it.

So there you have it – change your thinking from the problem to thinking about a solution. And change your job or change your thinking about it. Or of course make no decision and be miserable.

What will you choose?
